Repremiering Poston

In April 2024, Inchant were involved in an exciting project by charity Multitude of Voyces, who are working to publish many forgotten choral works by 20th Century composer, Elizabeth Poston.

Performing at Poston's alma mater, the Royal Academy of Music, Inchant gave the premieres of new editions of 'An English Day-Book' and 'A Settled Rest', both pieces written by Poston for upper voice choir and harp. Alongside these, we performed one of Poston's earliest compositions, 'Salve Jesus, Little Lad', written for upper voices and piano while she was a student at the RAM. We were pleased to be joined by harpist Megan Humphries and pianist Catriona Mackenzie for this concert.

Between the music, Artistic Director Emma Warren gave the audience an insight into Poston's fascinating life, and explained the background to the pieces performed in the concert.
